Sullivan Celebrate America Fireworks Set For Fourth Of July

The city of Sullivan and Sullivan Bank will celebrate America on July 4.with the annual fireworks display at the fairgrounds.

The $15,000 display is cost shared between the city and Sullivan Bank. The city has a $10,000 commitment and Sullivan Bank provides a $5,000 donation for a spectacular display.

The Sullivan Police Department reminds those in attendance not to bring or discharge fireworks on the fairgrounds as it is not only against city code it is also dangerous with the massive display bunkers in place for the big event.

Fireworks are also not allowed to be discharged anywhere in the city limits of Sullivan.

Dry conditions without rainfall recently along with dry vegetation will make things very dangerous for fast spreading fires that individuals can be held personally responsible for should they have started the fire via fireworks.
