St. Clair Man Charged In Firing Gun At Dollar General, Vehicles

A man has been charged with firing a gun at a Dollar General and two vehicles that were in the parking lot.

Ricky Walton, 33, was charged thursday with two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon and two counts of armed criminal action.

Walton is accused of firing several shots into the Dollar General storefront. Two vehicles, occupied by victims, were impacted by the gunfire.

Walton was developed as a suspect using security cameras and witness statements.

He had encountered deputies several times over the last few weeks and his vehicle matched the shooting.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that Walton was inside a St. Clair home where a fatal drug overdose had taken place.

Deputies arrived on the scene and took Walton into custody.

Walton had outstanding warrants, including several from last May when he fired a gun into the air.
