Sparta Man Killed In Crawford County Crash

A Sparta man was killed in a crash on Interstate 44 in Crawford County on June 14.

Joseph R. Anderson, 25, struck the rear end of a tractor trailer.

Anderson was taken to Missouri Baptist Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 9:48 p.m.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the crash occurred westbound at the 207 mile marker at 9:15 p.m.

According to the patrol, a 2003 Kenwroth T800, driven by Michael W. Jurd, 53, Linn, was slowing down.

Anderson, who was driving a 2021 Promaster 1500, collided with the rear of the tractor trailer.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
