Seventh Inmate At Licking Prison Dies In One Month
The seventh inmate to die at the South Central Correctional Center in Licking died Sept. 30.
Demarco Washington, 35, was pronounced dead at a Springfield hospital. Results of an autopsy are pending.
Washington was serving a 10-year sentence for first-degree endangering the welfare of a child, two counts of second-degree burglar and stealing over $750.
Washington had been imprisoned since Sept. 4, 2019.
One of the seven inmates that has died there was convicted in a 2014 Crawford County murder.
Oryon Guinn, 38, died Sept. 10.
Guinn was serving a life sentence for second-degree murder in the death of Herman Ilges.
Results of his autopsy are pending.
Robert Baker, 29, died Sept. 25. He was serving a six-year sentence for first-degree motor vehicle tampering.
Jeffrey Bolden died Sept. 6. Bolden was serving a life sentence for second-degree murder. His death was determined as stage 4 lung cancer and bilateral pulmonary embolism.
Terrell Dawson, 42, was serving two life sentences for first-degree murder, armed criminal action, first-degree burglary and violence to an inmate by an inmate.
Roy Sinden, 64, was serving a 10-year sentence for driving while intoxicated. His death was a result of natural causes.
Both died Sept. 1.
Kaleb Smith was serving a 10-year sentence for second-degree burglary, stealing, forgery, possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm.
An autopsy is pending.
