Sentencing Delayed For Hernandez On Capitol Riot Charge

Emily Hernandez, the Sullivan woman who pleaded guilty for her role in the Jan. 6, 2021 riot at the United States Capitol, had her sentence delayed Monday.

Hernandez, 22, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor charge of entering a restricted building in January.

The charge carries a maximum sentence of year in prison and a fine up to $100,000.

Less than a week before pleading guilty, Hernandez was arrested in a fatal wrong way crash on Interstate 44 that killed Victoria Wilson, 32, St. Clair.

She left behind two children.

Ryan Wilson, 36, was seriously injured.

Hernandez was arrested for driving while intoxicated, but no charges have been filed against her at this time.
