Rolla Teen Flown To Hospital After Crash In Crawford County

A Rolla teen was flown to the hospital Monday after a crash on Interstate 44 in Crawford County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Ethan Volkman, 19, Rolla had moderate injuries in the crash. He was taken by Phelps Air to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis.

According to the patrol, Volkman was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Traverse when he attempted to merge in front of a 2017 Ford F550, driven by Samuel Osseck, 32, Union.

Osseck’s truck struck the rear of the Traverse, which sent it traveling off the right side of the road and into an embankment.

Osseck’s truck went off the left side of the road and into the median barrier.

Alizaya R. Doyle, 18, Rolla, was a passenger in Volkman’s vehicle. She was taken to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital with moderate injuries.

All occupants were wearing seat belts.
