Pleasant Hill Man Is Missouri’s Fourth Drowning Of 2022
A Pleasant Hill man fell out of a boat and drowned Sunday, making him the fourth victim in Missouri this year.
Michael Hamilton, 67, was fishing on the Pleasant Hill City Lake when he fell out of the watercraft, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
Bystanders attempted to rescue and ultimately recovered Hamilton, who was pronounced dead at 11:31 a.m.
The highway patrol said Hamilton was not wearing a safety device.
Other drownings in Missouri this year include a 6-year-old Hartville child who fell into Beaver Creek in Taney County on Feb. 19 and whose body was recovered March 13.
Otto Sonnenmoser, 71, Rushville, drowned Feb. 8 at the Jamesport Community Lake in Daviess County.
The highway patrol said Sonnenmoser was ice fishing and fell through.
Nicolas Robinson, 25, Fredericktown, drowned Jan. 28 in the St. Francis River in Madison County.
Robinson fell into the water and never resurfaced. His body was recovered two days later.
