Pacific Woman Sentenced In Fatal Burglary Attempt

A Pacific woman has been sentenced to 12 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections in an attempted burglary last August that left her two would-be accomplices dead at a home on Lollar Branch Road.

Marie Pursley, 24, was charged with two counts of second-degree murder, but the Washington Missourian reported that instead, she pleaded to one count of attempted burglary.

Pursley, who is already imprisoned on an unrelated drug charge, was accused of driving Nolan Green, 23, Gray Summit, and Curtis Wertenberger, 24, St. Clair, to a residence in the 300 block of Lollar Branch Road in Stanton.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Department said they intended to rob the people who lived there of drugs and money.

The attempt failed as one of the people at the home shot both Green and Wertenberger.

Wertenberger died at the scene and Green was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

Charges have never been filed against the people inside the home.
