Man Charged With Making Threats To Hospital Staff
Charges were filed Thursday against a St. Clair man who allegedly threatened Mercy Hospital staffers last October.
Dustin Nappier, born 1983, has been charged with one count of making first-degree terrorist threat, a class D felony.
According to the probable cause statement, Nappier was a patient at the hospital on Oct. 18, 2023. Around 8:50 p.m., police were dispatched to the hospital because Nappier had been threatening the staffers.
Nappier did not feel he received the care that he should have and became irate.
He allegedly made threatening phone calls to the hospital throughout the evening, then threatened to return and shoot everyone inside.
He also said he planted a bomb inside the facility.
While an officer was on scene, Nappier allegedly called back and said, “are you ready to die? Because I am.”
A warrant was issued March 8 for Nappier’s arrest.
