Man Accused Of Assaulting Ex-Girlfriend With Crow Bar
A Sullivan man is being held in the Franklin County Adult Detention Center after allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend with his fists and a crow bar on Aug. 23.
Bryan A. Kane, 55, faces one count of second-degree assault.
According to Sullivan Police, officers were dispatched to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital for a female that had been assaulted in the City of Sullivan.
Officers determined that the 40-year-old victim was allegedly assaulted by her ex-boyfriend at her home.
The victim stated that Kane entered the residence and woke the victim up who was sleeping in a chair in the living room of the home.
Kane is allegedly argued with the victim, then proceeded to hit her in the head multiple times with a closed fist causing swelling to the back of her head and around the left eye.
The suspect then is alleged to have placed his hands around the victim’s neck and choking her.
Kane allegedly grabbed a crow bar from inside the residence and proceeded to hit the victim on the left forearm, right knee, and the back of the victim’s left leg.
The impact from the crow bar reportedly caused the skin to break on the left forearm and back of the leg.
Officers reported that the left leg area of the victim was stabbed by the crow bar leaving a puncture wound from the one inch in diameter crow bar.
Following the assault, Kane left the residence and was later apprehended by Sullivan Police.
