Lonedell Man Arrested For Stealing Four-Wheeler
A Lonedell man was arrested Sept. 4 for allegedly stealing a four-wheeler.
Dylan Schumacher, born 1994, faces one count of first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle. HIs bond was set at $50,000.
The probable cause statement says the four-wheeler was reported stolen Aug. 11 from a Lonedell residence.
It was recovered Aug. 28 in damaged condition.
The victim found the four-wheeler broken down on Redbud Drive with Schumacher seated on it. Schumacher was confronted by the owner and he took off running, leaving personal items. His wallet and a Visa card with his name were left behind.
A witness stopped by as the victim was loading the four-wheeler and said Schumacher was observed riding it Aug. 22. They said they had a picture.
Schumacher was taken into custody Sept. 2. He told a Franklin County sheriff’s deputy he purchased the four-wheeler for $500, but he didn’t have a bill of sale or title. He also said he could not be held for a crime where law enforcement did not physically see him on the four-wheeler.
