Ironton Man Arrested Following Multi-County Pursuit
An Ironton man was arrested July 28 following a multi-county pursuit that ended in Crawford County.
Jeffrey W. White, Jr., 42, has been charged with seven counts, including first-degree assault on a law enforcement officer, armed criminal action, two counts of unlawful use of a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of tampering with a motor vehicle.
The pursuit went through Crawford, Iron and Washington counties.
According to the sheriff’s office, two vehicles had been stolen from a property that morning.
A sergeant observed one of the vehicles, which fled on Long Springs Road. Another sergeant responded to the area and a pursuit began.
White allegedly began firing shots from the window.
Nearly an hour and 48 miles later, the stolen vehicle became disabled. White was taken into custody and a handgun was taken from his vehicle.
White is a known felon and a non-compliant sex offender.
He was taken to the Crawford County Jail.
The other stolen vehicle was located on Long Springs Road.
