Full Agenda Before Council Tuesday Night

The Sullivan City Council was scheduled to meet on Tuesday, September 6, with a full agenda of four requests and petitions, four items under City Administration and five proposed bills for approval as ordinances in the City of Sullivan.

Under requests and petitions, Harney Mansion Foundation was to seek approval for a temporary liquor license for October 15 for their, “Witches Night Out Event,” Anytime Fitness was seeking approval to hold their annual Turkey Trot on November 24, for Special Olympics, Chamber of Commerce was seeking permission for street closures during their annual Halloween Spoocktacular  October 31, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and Downtown Business Partnership is requesting to held their Third Saturday Flea Market and Food Booth event September 17, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Four items were under City Administrator J.T. Hardy report to the council that included 40’ class 3 Wood poles for the Electric Department with the recommendation to go with Baldwin Pole, Wiggins, Mississippi for 39 poles in the amount of $20,865;  a water water pump replacement for the wastewater treatment plant in the amount of $8,690; information on the proposed contract with Sullivan Chamber of Commerce and information on the Ozark Run Scenic Byway.

Five bills were to be presented for approval as ordinances in the city of Sullivan and included:

Bill 3966, which would approve the city budget for October 1, 2002 through September 20, 2023 in the amount of $24.05 million in expenditures and $24.22 million in revenues;

Bill 3967, would approve an agreement with MoDED for CDBG funding to improve East Vine St and North and South Rd;

Bill 3968, would approve the annual renewable School Resource Officer agreement with the Sullivan School District with the district covering 50 percent of the expense with the first officer and 75 percent for up to three additional SRO’s;

Bill 3969, would approve an agreement with MJMEUC effective January 1, 2023 for the purpose of obtaining electric power and;

Bill 3970,  would approve a 60-day contract with Midwest Infrastructure in the amount of $74,999 to apply a polyuria and polymer manhole lining system on manholes. The bid was approved at the August 16, 2022 council meeting.

The council did have closed session posted for real estate, litigation and personnel.
