Franklin County SWAT Team Called In After Suspects Barricade Home
The Franklin County SWAT team was called in June 20 after three subjects barricaded themselves inside a Union residence.
Stolen property and controlled substances were seized from the home after law enforcement made their way in.
William J. Rieger, 50, Austin S. Clark, 28, and Nicholas R. Dunham, 37, have been charged.
A 44-year-old man, a 28-year-old man and a 41-year-old man identified as the homeowner also were arrested and held at the Franklin County Adult Detention Center pending charges.
According to the sheriff’s office, Union Police obtained information about a home in the 200 block of North Oak, a known location where numerous individuals with active warrants have resided.
Police received information that stolen property from a recent burglary was possibly located at the residence.
Law enforcement contacted an individual staying there about the property. They found a generator stolen from a Union home on June 18.
A 44-year-old man was arrested for possession of stolen property, burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
A 28-year-old male was taken into custody for possession of stolen property.
The three men charged barricaded themselves inside.
Union Police obtained a search warrant and due to the nature of the investigation and the potential for confrontation, the SWAT team was called in for assistance.
The three men eventually exited the home.
The homeowner was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.
