Fair Requests, Bid And Conditional Use Permit Before Council Tuesday
The Sullivan City Council had a full agenda before them scheduled for Tuesday night, May 3, with multiple requests from the Meramec Community Fair Board, a bid review and contract awarding for roof restoration at the Water and Sewer Department, a request for funds between Sullivan and Oak Grove Village and a major subdivision conditional use permit.
Under requests and petitions the Meramec Community Fair Board is seeking permission to hold their 35th Annual Parade on Tuesday, June 21, at 6 p.m. on the normal parade route with lineup at 4:30 which will require additional street closures. The fair is also seeking track, stage and rodeo liquor licenses for the fair.
City Administrator J.T. Hardy had a number of items under his report to the council with one bid being received for the roof restoration on the Water and Sewer Department from Superior Industrial Coatings, O’Fallon in the amount of $24,900. No other bids were received after four others firms sought to bid the project.
Oak Grove Village is seeking to withdraw $300,000 from the mutual Transportation Escrow Fund between the two municipalities in order for the Village to complete their Springfield Rd. Improvement Project in which $505,330 in federal funds along with the $300,000 mutual fund will help complete the project estimated at $1,189,223. The project will resurface the roadway from the Springfield Rd. intersection on Highway 185 to the east of Village city limits.
Hardy was also scheduled to present the L & M Subdivision, approved for a conditional use permit by Planning and Zoning Board, which will bring a 37 lots development off North and South Rd., just south of Tessa Dr.
Based on this proposed major subdivision constructing water and sanitary sewer infrastructure that will become part of the City system, the Planning and Zoning Commission had a public hearing at their April 12 meeting, and made a recommendation of approval of the conditional use permit for the major subdivision and forwarded to the Board of Aldermen for final decision.
The council did have closed session posted for real estate, litigation and personnel.
There were no proposed bills for approval as ordinances on the council agenda.
