Election Filing Complete For April 2 Ballot
Filing for the April 2 municipal election, will feature a race in Sullivan Ward One, a three-way race for the Sullivan Fire Protection District Board of Directors and a race in the Strain-Japan School.
In the City of Sullivan, incumbent Mark A. Dalton has filed, along with Gary Pondrom and David Cochran.
In Ward Two and Ward 3, incumbents Jason Alexander George (Randy) Counts have filed with no opposition.
In Oak Grove Village, incumbents Pam Campbell and Sandra Paul have filed for re-election.
In the Village of West Sullivan, incumbents Jim Turntine and Carly Griggs have filed.
Three candidates filed for office in Miramiguoa, including Mike Schinner, Tina Lawrence and Terri Knowles.
The terms for all municipal offices are two years.
The Sullivan Fire Protection District has three candidates that have filed for one six-year term. Incumbent Frank Blanton will be challenged by Timothy Leasor and James W. Johnson.
In the Sullivan School District, two three year terms for office on the Board of Education are open. Incumbents Tracy Barch and Shannon Johanning, who is the board president, both filed for re-election.
In the Spring Bluff School District, incumbents Jarod Schmidt and Kay Bylo filed.
Matt Montee, another incumbent, decided not to seek re-election.
The Spring Bluff School also will have a ballot measure for a proposed no tax increase bond issue titled “Proposition Care.”
The final details are still being finalized.
The Strain-Japan School District has three filings that include incumbent Justin Williamson, Donald Mattingly III and Olivia Bryan each seeking one of two positions open.
Incumbent Crystal Hulsey did not seek re-election.
