Council Has Light Agenda Tuesday Night
The Sullivan City Council was scheduled to meet Tuesday, July 5, with one request before them, one item under the City Administrators Report and one proposed bill for approval as an ordinance in the City of Sullivan.
The Sullivan Chamber of Commerce was scheduled to address the council seeking permission for a street closure on Thursday, September 22, from 3:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Main St. from North Clark St. to Taylor and no parking along store fronts from 12 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. to set up for the Chamber dinner.
City Administrator J.T. Hardy had one item on his report to the council regarding bids for decorative light poles and fixtures for the Sullivan Electric Department.
Four bids were received that included: Aniexter, Mattoon, Ill., $40,807, Graybar, St. Louis, $37,770, Fletcher-Reinhardt, St. Louis, $36,750 and Harry Cooper, Springfield, $35,553.30.
City staff is recommending the Board of Aldermen accept the bid from Harry Cooper Supply in the amount of $35,553.30.
One bill was on the agenda for approval as an ordinance in the City of Sullivan with Ord. 3955, which would approve a 30-day contract with Midstate Paving to repair, pave and seal the Sullivan Golf Course parking lot in the amount of $29,650.
The council did have closed session posted for real estate, litigation and personnel.
