Charges Expected To Be Filed In Dumpster Fires
An 18-year-old Sullivan man is expected to have charges filed against him after allegedly starting two dumpster fires and a trash can fire Aug. 18 in Sullivan.
According to Sullivan Police and Sullivan Fire, the incidents began at 8:28 p.m. when the dumpster at Sully’s Ace Hardware, 252 South Service Road, was set on fire.
The fire was extinguished by Sullivan Fire.
At 9 p.m., officers and firefighters responded to 226 West Main for a reported trash can on fire.
This fire was also extinguished.
At 9:05 p.m., both departments responded to Temple Baptist Church for a dumpster fire.
Information and video was gathered regarding the suspect, who was wearing dark shorts with a white t-shirt over his shoulder.
Within 30 minutes, officers located and arrested the suspect.
