Inmate Charged In Assault Leaving Another Inmate With Fractured Nose

An inmate at the Crawford County Jail is facing assault charges after fracturing another inmate’s nose.

Travis J. Martin, 39, has been charged with third-degree assault.

Martin has been held at the Crawford County Jail since Sept. 16 on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest.

According to the probable cause statement, Martin attacked another inmate. The incident allegedly involved Martin repeatedly punching the inmate in the face, causing significant injuries. 

As a result, the inmate was transported to the emergency room for medical attention.

Medical evaluations confirmed the inmate suffered a closed fracture of the nasal bone, along with multiple lacerations.
