Dothage Sentenced To 20 Years In Steelville Man’s Murder
A Steelville man pleaded guilty Monday to a 2021 murder.
Marcus Dothage, 41, pleaded guilty to a second-degree murder charge.
Dothage was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
He is convicted of killing Mark Palmer in March 2021.
Dothage was one of three people accused of murdering Palmer.
Scott Shook was acquitted by a Dent County jury two weeks earlier.
Julie Brooks is the other accused and she has a court date in November.
As part of his deal, Dothage also pleaded guilty to first-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon in an unrelated incident that occurred in Crawford County in October 2020.
Dothage fired rounds at another vehicle on Highway 19.
He received 15 years, but the sentence will run concurrent with the second-degree murder conviction.
Regina Bacon, 47, was also charged in the incident, but pleaded down to aiding/abetting a person discharging a firearm.
Bacon received five years probation.
