Crawford County Voters Reject Prop ECC, Use Tax
Crawford County voters rejected Proposition ECC on Tuesday, while also passing on a use tax.
Voters swung against the Prop ECC, with 207 going “yes” and 396 saying “no.”
The proposition failed in at least Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties.
A use tax also failed. 370 voters approved, while 1,343 rejected it.
The county was projecting to bring in an additional $1 million in revenue.
Voters in the Crawford County portion of the Strain-Japan R-16 School District also doomed two propositions.
For the Sullivan School Board of Education, James Bartle (owner/publisher of the Independent News) received 80 votes. Theresa McKinney received 74 votes.
Tyler Garner took in 56 votes and Randall Stack 51 votes.
According to unofficial tallies, Bartle and McKinney were the top two vote-getters in the race.
In the Bourbon Fire Protection District, incumbent John Ertl received 209 votes to Robert Rohrer’s 117 votes.
There were nine write-in votes.
