Crash Seriously Injures Sullivan Man, Bourbon Woman
A crash July 4 on Blue Springs Road in Bourbon caused serious injuries to a Bourbon man and Sullivan woman.
Another occupant had minor injuries.
Michael Scaman, 37, Sullivan, and Amber L. Simpson, 36, Bourbon, each had serious injuries in the crash.
Brandon S. Downey, 27, Senath, Mo., had minor injuries.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at 2:45 p.m.
Scaman was driving a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee when he went off the right side of the road and struck an embankment.
He was flown to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. Scaman was not wearing a seat belt.
Simpson was taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital by ambulance. It is unknown if she was wearing a seat belt.
Downey refused treatment at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.
