County Sales Tax Down 3 Percent

Crawford County’s general revenue sales tax was down 3 percent year-over-year for September.

The county collected $229,494.93, a decrease from $238,764.63 from September 2023.

In September 2021, the county collected $250,281.55 and in September 2022, $254,836.49.

Sales tax revenue has been down year-over-year for the last three months. It was down 1.2 percent for July and 5.3 percent for August.

Despite that, the county has collected $2,184.573.29 for 2024, roughly in line at the same point last year.

The law enforcement and capital improvement sales taxes are separates.

Both were down about 3.9 percent for September.

The county collected $110,031.09 for the two funds, which was down from $114,511.60 from last September.

The county has collected $1,040,685.76 thus far.
