Sullivan Man Among County’s Five New COVID-19 Deaths

Franklin County said in its weekly report on Friday that five people died due in part to COVID-19 between September and November.

One of those five was a 62-year-old Sullivan man.

The other deaths were a 57-year-old Union man, 91-year-old Washington man, 63-year-old Gerald man and 57-year-old St. Clair man.

A 36-year-old Labadie female was a probable death.

The county has lost 226 residents to the virus and 39 more deaths are probable.

Hospitalizations shot up over the last week, rising from three to 16.

It is the highest number of patients hospitalized with the virus in several months.

The county also saw cases continue to rise, with a 14-day daily average of 45.5.

A total of 297 were reported in the last seven days.

The county reported a seven-day positivity rate of 17.1%.

Franklin County has reported 14,191 cases.
