Weekly COVID-19 Cases Drop

Crawford County saw new COVID-19 cases drop for the week ending Aug. 11.

After two weeks straight of reporting 60-plus cases, there were 50 reported during the seven-day timeframe.

Testing also has ramped up: 416 tests were conducted during the week, a 21.3% increase week-over-week.

The increased testing and decrease in cases was enough to lower Crawford County’s seven-day positivity rate to 12% — one of the lowest in the state, but still high.

The 9% drop was the biggest among all of Missouri’s 114 counties.

The percentage of county residents initiating the vaccine is 28.5% and only 24% have completed.

There were 283 doses administered through Aug. 14.
