Update On The November 3, 2021 Shooting In Bourbon

The incident that occurred at 8833 N. Service Rd. is still currently being investigated and all evidence is being processed. Details of the incident will be available upon the completion of the investigation. The only information being release at this time is the following:

Crawford County Deputies and Bourbon Police responded to a report of a shooting that occurred at 8833 N. Service Rd. and located a deceased male subject, Justin King, 28, Bourbon. Upon arrival, a person was taken into custody and transported to the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office for questioning. Investigators remained on scene for several hours speaking with the witness, persons involved, and obtaining search warrants. The subject taken into custody was later interviewed. At this time, it appears that King was shot and killed after forcing entry into a neighboring residence where an altercation took place. The homeowner stated that he feared for his life and shot King. All evidence on scene, video surveillance, and statements received, preliminarily corroborate the homeowner’s account of the events. The homeowner’s name is not being release at this time as no charges are currently being sought. However, upon completion of the investigation all information will be forwarded to the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office for their review regarding any possible charges. Any further information will be release at a later date.
