June Revenue Falls Year-Over-Year

Crawford County’s general revenue sales tax fell 16% year-over-year in June, but the county has brought in approximately the same revenue as this time last year.

The collection for June was $191,927.21, a decrease from $228,840.27 in 2020.

Crawford County has brought in more than $1.3 million to date. At this point last year, the county also had collected around $1.3 million.

General revenue has been up-and-down compared to last year’s numbers.

After starting out 2021 down 12%, revenue grew 31% in January and 9% in February.

It tumbled 12% in March and 3% in April, but climbed up 12% in May.

Crawford County budgeted $2.2 million in revenue for 2021 and collected $2.4 million in 2020.

With five months remaining, the county still has a chance to meet last year’s final numbers.

General revenue sales tax has cleared more than $2 million in each of the two full years the half-cent increase has been in full effect.

The increase temporarily went up in October 2018 and is set to expire Dec. 31, 2023.
