Halloween Fun Night, Chili Cook-Off Set For Weekend

It’s the last blast of fall in Bourbon.

The Bourbon Boosters Halloween Family Fun Night and Warhawk Athletics Booster Club’s Chili Cook-Off are set for Friday and Saturday, respectively.

Downtown figures to be busy for both events.

The Family Fun Night gets underway Friday at 5 p.m.

Businesses and organizations will be passing out candy along Pine Street. The street will be blocked off from Cedar to Elm and the Bourbon Area Community Center parking lot.

The “trick or trunk” goes until 6:15 p.m.

A costume contest will be held directly after inside the community center.

The Bourbon Fire Protection District will host a drive-thru trick or treat event at the fire house fro 5-7 p,m. that night as well.

Chili Cook-Off

Bowls full of chili will be ladled up Saturday as WABC hosts its fourth annual cook-off Saturday.

WABC has moved the event to the downtown area for more space. 

The festivities begin at 1 p.m. 

Competitors must be registered by Thursday, Oct. 27.

All proceeds will benefit the Bourbon High School athletics programs.

WABC has a busy day planned, with a corn hole tournament, live entertainment, live judging, a silent dessert auction, a gun raffle and more.

A beer garden area will be provided by the Town Tavern. Alcohol must be consumed in the designated area and will not be allowed outside.

WABC will be holding a costume contest for the competitors and crowning a people’s champion.
