Crawford County General Revenue Down 11 Percent Year-Over-Year
Crawford County’s general revenue sales tax slumped 11 percent year-over-year for July.
The county collected $240,061.04, down from $270,326.46 a year ago.
However, it represents the second-highest month of collection for the county in 2023.
In July 2021, the county collected $252,654.04 and in July 2020, $191,786.96.
Crawford County has seen revenue drop three of the last four months.
Revenue for June fell to its lowest level for that month since the sales tax increase went into effect nearly five years ago.
The county saw revenue fall 33 percent for April, nudge upward by 0.6 percent for May, then fall 17 percent for June.
Revenue has yo-yoed this year, starting out 2023 strong. It was up 3 percent for December, 26 percent for January, 19 percent for February and 4 percent for March.
The county has collected more than $1.6 million so far this year, putting it within $1 million matching last year’s record revenue.
