County’s Weekly COVID-19 Cases Down

COVID-19 cases in Crawford County remained low for the week ending Nov. 16.

There were 28 cases reported, a daily average of four.

It was a 20% drop week-over-week. The positivity rate fell more than a point to 9.3%. Testing also dropped 6.6%.

State

Missouri continues to see cases increase.

The state averaged more than 1,000 new cases per day for the week ending Nov. 16. The daily average had dipped below 700 in October, but a new wave appears to be forming.

Missouri confirmed 7,316 cases for the week, nearly a 12% increase.

There have been 727,502 total cases. 

The state also confirmed 15 more deaths, raising the total to 12,423.

The seven-day positivity rate jumped 1.3% even though testing declined by nearly 3%.

Breakthroughs

Missouri is now reporting breakthrough cases and reinfections.

Only 2% of the fully vaccinated population has developed COVID-19.

The state says 655 of the 3.1 million fully vaccinated have died from the virus.

Vaccine

Missouri administered a daily average of 20,000 vaccinations for the week of Nov. 10-16.

More than 3.5 million people have initiated vaccination, which accounts for 57.3% of the population.

Hospitalizations

There were 1,051 people hospitalized as of Nov. 16.

Of those, 260 were in ICUs.

In the St. Louis region, 468 patients were hospitalized and 102 were in ICUs.
