CCSO Receives Blue Shield Designation

The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office is proud to announce that our community has received the Missouri Blue Shield designation from the Missouri Department of Public Safety. This prestigious recognition honors communities committed to public safety and supporting law enforcement.

The Missouri Blue Shield Program, established by Governor Kehoe in January 2025 through Executive Order 25-03, acknowledges communities excelling in crime reduction, law enforcement collaboration, and strong partnerships for public safety.

Governor Kehoe said, “The Missouri Blue Shield Program recognizes communities that go above and beyond in creating a place where people want to live, work, and build their futures. Public safety is the foundation of a thriving community.”

Mark James, Director of the Missouri Department of Public Safety, commented, “We are proud to work alongside communities like the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office that have shown exceptional dedication to enhancing public safety. This program is about fostering collaboration between local law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve.”

Presiding Commissioner Steve Black stated, “We are honored that Crawford County has been selected as a Missouri Blue Shield County. This recognition reflects our dedication to public safety, community well-being, and our strong partnerships with law enforcement and local organizations.”

Sheriff Darin Layman remarked, “Being selected for the Missouri Blue Shield Program is an honor that reflects our steadfast commitment to the safety and well-being of Crawford County. We will continue working together to build a safer, more resilient future.”
