CARES Act Committee Approves Over $917,000
The Crawford County CARES Act Committee released its final list of applications it approved on Tuesday, which totaled more than $922,000.
According to a list provided by District 2 Commissioner Jared Boast, 16 applications were approved from 11 different taxing entities and two other organizations.
Approved for funds were:
Crawford County R-1 ($40,651): virtual learning, cleaning supplies;
Crawford County R-2 ($223,525): flat rate
Crawford County 911** ($34,002): payroll, plexiglass, cleaning supplies, COVID-19 payroll, Rave software;
Steelville Ambulance** ($119,057): patient care;
Cuba Fire ($41,544): personal protection equipment (PPE) and cleaning supplies;
Bourbon and Cuba Senior Centers ($1,705): food distribution;
Cuba Ministerial Alliance ($35,276): food distribution;
Steelville Fire District ($82,446): personal protection equipment/air packs;
Bourbon Fire District** ($74,348): responder safety/disinfection and two-way radios;
Leasburg Fire District ($62,476): PPE/air packs and portable two-way radios;
North Crawford County Ambulance ($173,110): patient care;
City of Steelville ($26,693): School Resource Officer, PPE and computers; and,
Crawford County Library District ($3,157): cleaning supplies, labor.
**Received two grants
The committee was made up of Boast, chairperson Lesa Mizell; attorney Bill Lange; accountant Darrell Layman and Presiding Commissioner Leo Sanders.
The committee was tasked with dispersing up to $2.8 million in funds, which was the county’s portion of the CARES Act.
