Asbestos Discovered At County Offices, Temporary Relocation Set

Crawford County’s collector/assessor offices will be temporarily relocating after asbestos was discovered in the flooring.
The county is relocating Collector Pat Schwent and Assessor Kellie Vestal to a building owned by Steelville Telephone Exchange.
The current offices will be vacated in early November and demolition is scheduled to occur Nov. 15.
During that time, the offices will be gutted.
