Franklin County reported that an 86-year-old Washington man has died due in part to COVID-19.
He is the 42nd county resident to die from the disease.
COVID-19 cases are accelerating across Missouri, with 11,170 new ones identified over the last week.
Missouri is up to 156,696 cases, up from 144,230 on Oct. 11.
Franklin County reached 2,500 cases of COVID-19 on Thursday after 51 new patients were identified.
On Wednesday, the county reported that five people had died due in part to the virus.
Franklin County said three more people died due in part to COVID-19 over the weekend, including two Sullivan residents.
